Bachelor's Degree

A bachelor's degree in business is valuable for anyone looking to be promoted out of an entry-level administrative position, which is the typical job for someone with just an associate's degree. The bachelor's degree program provides students with a more in-depth understanding of business principles and related fields, such as economics, finance, accounting, marketing, human resources, and sales.

Pursing this degree is a good choice if you are looking for upward mobility after working for a year or more in an entry-level position, or right after high school if your goal is to bypass entry-level job openings and apply directly for positions requiring more education and training.

Graduates with a bachelor's degree in business are qualified for higher-paying jobs and more responsibility than those with either no higher education or with just an associate's degree. Whereas someone with a two-year degree might work as an administrative assistant, someone with a four-year degree might manage assistants and other employees.

Bachelor's degree graduates are most often hired for lower- to mid-management positions in advertising, information systems, construction, education, engineering, finance, food service, labor relations, industrial production, lodging, and health services. Generally speaking, this degree takes four years to complete, or eight full-time semesters, totaling approximately 124 credits.
